I have done several works, oil on paper, and not found it a problem. I used to stretch the paper on a piece of board, keep it on the board for painting, prime it with arcylic house paint before painting.

i have been looking at your work and like it a lot. i like it's lack of polish, which is a sort of immediacy.

I have done many works with oils on prepared paper, I just used to stretch the paper then prime it with house paint (not oil) - house ceiling paint.
I will try to find some and post pictures on my blog.
I did not find it a problem, some from 20 years ago are still like when I finished them.
