like this one a lot alicja. you are very good at defining the textures of different things well, for example the two terracotta pots, so different in appearance, different pots, different finishes, different clay, different colours. very nice. and you really are slkilled in how you get there so easily, with the minimum of marks!

lovely!

Thank You very much Adam, it's really good to have response, You are so receptive!
this is a rather large sketch, so when sized down, the detail looks very rich & dense; just one of the ways to survive those long dark evenings in fall, I'm shure You remember those.
By the way, where in Scotland are You from originally?
I've googled the lakes You describe - it was a grand tour, and it would never have occured to me had I not seen Your photos - thank You!

I was born near Stirling but we moved to Edinburgh when I was 8. After University I left there when I was 21.

sense of place is good, but one thing it can not do for you: it does not immunise against that terrible yearn to posess a sense of all places, simultanously.... that could tear one to shreds.
Can I say "yearn"? Should I have written perceptive or receptive? I feel terribly insecure about language right now (or is that realistic) and my Dear Significant Other has fallen asleep on the vocabulary.

I looked back and you probably should have used "perceptive"! although I am receptive too! "yearn" is OK.

what are your languages?

luckily, for every one I learned the last thirty years, I lost another one, so it stays at the manageable level of three, at present Polish, Danish, and what with me passes for English. By the wayside lay German (my first), Russian (poetry), some French and a smattering of once usefull pidgins of scandinavian, slavonic and somewhat italian origin. It helps to reach an age when it's ok. to be forgetting a bit of everything!
